‘An Issue of Freedom of Speech’

“At any given moment there is a sort of self-prevailing orthodoxy, a tacit agreement not to discuss some large and uncomfortable fact.”
– George Orwell

“The Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal establishments, for their own sometimes-selfish purposes — contrary to one of the most fundamental values of democracy: free and open debate on important public issues — have in effect declared a ban on free speech around this profound human rights issue…

“A consideration of what pre-contact Aboriginal culture was really like is rarely engaged in. Aboriginal spokespersons stay on the general, merely declaratory level in this regard because to descend into the realm of facts and particulars — and to seriously consider them — makes one realize immediately how shallow, dogmatic, constricted, and almost dishonest so much of the current discourse is on this topic.  Continue reading “‘An Issue of Freedom of Speech’”

‘Suppressing Free Speech At Election Time’

“A Canadian civil liberties group has launched an urgent application against the Trudeau government in the name of free speech… The Canadian Constitution Foundation (CCF), a non-partisan charity, states in documents prepared for the Ontario Superior Court that the government’s new election law violates the Charter rights of Canadians who wish to voice their opinions in the current election campaign.

‘Government Silences Critic of Mohammedanism’

“I make a distinction between those who practice Islam in peace and harmony with others, and those with an agenda to usurp democratic constitutions, demand special privileges over other creeds and who advocate the abuse of women and innocents as a supremacist entitlement.”

From the Toronto Star’s “Identity and Inequality Reporter” {!?!}:
“A board member with the ‘Canadian Race Relations Foundation’, an arms-length federal government agency established to counteract racism, has been fired amid concerns over what Muslim advocacy groups describe as “Islamophobic commentary” {She is opposed to totalitarian political Islam —  ‘Islamism’ or ‘Mohammedanism’} and her

“public association with purveyors of hateful propaganda”. Continue reading “‘Government Silences Critic of Mohammedanism’”

‘What Happened To Secular Public Schools?’

“The morning after a tense meeting at the Peel school board — where a spectator tore up a ‘Quran’ and others yelled {so-called} ‘Islamophobic’ comments — the province has issued a statement in support of the board providing space for  Muslim students’ Friday prayers.

“Education Minister Mitzie Hunter and Michael Coteau, minister of children and youth services, said

“we know that the Peel District School Board has been working closely with their students and the community for more than a decade on ‘religious accommodation’ in their schools and we are pleased to see their commitment to inclusion… Realizing the promise of Ontario’s ‘diversity’ is a continuous process grounded in actively respecting and valuing the full range of our differences.”

{Does that “full range” include “valuing” Islamic slavery, savagery, misogyny, intolerance and violence?}

‘Freedom of Speech and ‘Islamophobia’

There is an anti-‘Islamophobia’ Liberal Muslim private members Motion in Parliament, presented by a Muslim MP, that would take us one step closer to criminalizing criticism of Islam:

“Canada is on the verge of passing what amounts to Islamic blasphemy laws.

“Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Government is quickly proceeding to address unproven increases of “Islamophobia{‘criticism of Islam’} — and he’s going to do it by curbing the right to free speech.
